So here we go.My first post in the project section. Most of us know the boat and hoped to see it sea worthy again.Well,I plan to make that happen and I hope I don't disappoint.I'll keep the first post brief.A couple of pics and a link to the beginning...

You made it that far without a plate on the trailer? I would have been stopped before I hit the first Seven Eleven.

I made it that far with no tag and sketchy trailer lights.

I bet waking up in the morning knowing she is safe and sound in YOUR shop must give you goose bumps. Can't wait to see her come together. Do you have a to-do list yet? I assume the fuel tank is in good shape so it's a matter of finishing up the transom, mounting the bracket, then details?

I got started derigging last night.

As all good projects should start...

Followed by first order of business(sorry Ed,and as I said last night,I will be more than happy to mail it to you)

Quickly realized that the bow rail was only going to create a lot more work.Oh well,it has to be done...

Teak removed

Bow rail removed

Lots more work and lots more beer needed.

Good plan.

It wasn't a hard decision.

Next step, removing the console and moving on to the tank.

Fuel tank inspection is another good plan. My guess is that the lid will come off very easy. No clue what's in there though. I drained the tank back in 2002 or so.

Looking at the bowrail coming off, that 5200 is a beast. But this way you'll fill/cover the holes properly. A tiny bit of grinding, some glass, and a wipe of filler and your ready.

I forgot to send you with the piece of klegecell I had cut out for the transomn cap. If you want it I can cut it in half and mail it that way. Just let me know. Would be glad to do it.

Yes,5200 ain't no joke(and the amount used didn't appear excessive).

I hope to find some good news when I pull the lid off.

Ahh,the transom cap. Please send it anyway you can.I'll help with shipping.

Troy,
What are the plans for the bracket and the motor? 30" motor with a floatation bracket would be nice. You are going to be the test case for many of us that have been "bench racing" about this for years.

Ok,I went to the shop this Saturday to meet with the guy working on the boat.Skippy is his name(don't laugh,I know you are Chuck).Anyhow,Skippy is exactly who and what you think about when you say his name, but he is a great guy and knows his stuff. We talked for quite a while and come to find out there was a huge communication breakdown. No worries,we sorted it out,but it's gonna be a several weeks before he can work on it.So,I pulled it back to house and started working on a few things myself, which I'm glad now I have the time to do it myself.First thing on the list........fuel tank. So,here goes...
