It's a kill switch. You attach a lanyard with clip the fits around the switch through the bottom opening. The other end of lanyard attach to your body. It kills motor in case you fall over board. There are many designs, you need to find one design for your motor.


ps..... the little slot on top is used for a key to activate the switch
